I had a surgery that left me with nerve damage in my left foot and leg, and I couldn't tolerate regular shoes due to the numbness and odd sensations I would get. My go-to shoe for a while at work in a business casual environment was a pair of black Crocs clogs, which were loose and comfortable, and easy to take on and off when at my desk. After six weeks I decided enough was enough of looking like s schlub, and asked my RN sister for recommendations.I will say my work wardrobe consists of a lot of dresses with tights, or dress pants. In the summer I have a few pair of Birkenstocks because I like the support and comfort.I went to a local shoe store who carried Alegria and other comparable stylish-yet-functional work shoes. Due to their limited inventory, they only had the very pretty yet not for me designed prints and huge butterfly emblem on the heel (again, not for me), but did have a pair of plain black Eryn wedges that I really liked. I did not buy them there because I wasn't 100% sold on the plainness of them either. I know lady, make up your mind already! Also, the price at the local store was full price at $130, even though this particular chain of stores is a "discount" type store that sells out of season shoes for BOGO prices. Even with a courtesy discount they were over $100, so I decided to think on it and went on Amazon and searched "Alegria Eryn" and the cuuuutest pair popped up as an option. Same shoe as at the store, but the punched out pattern on the toe of this shoe was the perfect balance of feminine, yet simple that I like.THE BEST PART? HALF the price of in store, with a preferable design. So, when it came to sizing I was concerned, as Alegrias are sold with European sizing. From having tried them on in a store, I knew I was a 37 (as I am w/ Birkenstock), but there was not a 37 option in this listing. Neither was there a 7-7.5 which I know is the equivalent American option, but there WAS a 7, so I took a chance and ordered them. And y'all, when I say I checked the tracking and waited and waited anxiously peeking out the door for them to arrive, I am not lying. It was about 6pm and my husband had just checked the porch for them and I was so ticked when they weren't there. Then I just happened to look out again at 6:15 and there they were! It was like Christmas morning!I LOOOOOOVE THEMMMMMM!!! I sometimes need a wide option, but they fit well. Just a tiny bit snug, but I know they will break in. they don't squeak, my high arch is supported, and the numbness in my foot isn't as much of an issue as with my tennies or Doc Martens (my go to winter office work shoes that had been uncomfortable lately). Also, just for good measure to show how much I loved them, I threw the box in the recycling right away. I usually keep packaging around until I'm positive I love something. Anyways, sorry for the rant, but GET THESE! I'm hoping to order the brown ones next month if I can save up some.***Update: I just wanted to add these are VERY slick on ice. They are incredibly stable and grip on other surfaces, but I have to tread lightly outside walking to and from my car.
